“Slow driving in the village. At a sharp turn to right (after the stop sign) I heard scratching the front right wheel on the chassis. It was dark and I did not find something strange so I drove slowly to my house, where I had a closer look: one photo is the good suspension on the left and the other is the broken on the right.”
NHTSA complaint #11299567, filed 2020-01, 80,000 miles“I put the car in reverse and the screen was black. All the controls were stuck...fan/AC...back up camera did not work. My turning signals did not work. Tesla service center was closed so all the AC did not turn off and drained the battery all the way to 0 range. Took a lot of trouble to get to the service center the next day. They concluded the mcu was dead and had to be replaced claiming that it was wear and tear. …”
NHTSA complaint #11344076, filed 2020-08, 52,889 miles“Backing up in my driveway at 2 mile per hour, right rear suspension collapsed. Car transported by flatbed to Tesla cleveland. Extensive repairs including to right front suspension. I note 42 other complaints of similar to NHTSA on Tesla Model S 2015-7 year models.”
NHTSA complaint #11378123, filed 2020-12, 121,000 miles“In a parking lot traveling 5mph ran over an elevated speed bump on left side of car when heard a snap in driver rear wheel area. Pulled over into parking spot and tire was cantered. Control arm had snapped. Had 65k miles and Tesla told me it was not under warranty yet the new control arm looks much sturdier and different then the old one. I have pictures of both but this is a real problem for these 2015 and before models. Please help.”
NHTSA complaint #11325046, filed 2020-05, 65,000 miles“My infotainment mcu goes blank or is completely unresponsive. This will happen intermittently and without warning. Sometimes I get in my car and the screen remains blank for the entire drive, cutting off access to vital performance features of the vehicle, as well as disabling airbags. I've already taken this to Tesla under their 'warranty program', but they refuse to do anything other than reset the computer. They will not repair or replace anything.”
