“I have a 2005 Camry. I know it is not part of the recall, but for the past 2-3 years I have had this sporadic problem. When I am stopped at a stop light sometimes it surges forward...not always a lot, but sometimes quite hard. I started keeping track and it doesn't matter if it is cold engine or warm engine. Then just the other day my radio shut off and the interior lights while I was driving, and came back on within a few seconds. …”

“I had parked in a parking space and was going to open my drivers door to get out. I had my keys in my hand and was reaching over to get my purse. I suddenly realized I was not in my parking place and had rolled backwards (lot was on a slope) and had hit the restaurants garbage can. I discovered at that point that my car was not in park and the ignition was turned off. In further checking I now know I can remove my car keys at anytime. Engine running or turned off, car in park or not. It does not matter. …”

NHTSA complaint #10575671, filed 2014-03, 90,000 miles

“When driving on highway, there was some noise coming from the engine compartment, and suddenly I lost power steering and lights flashed on the front panel. I managed hard to pull off the vehicle from the highway, it was so hard make turns to the ramp. The engine temperature started to fluctuate. There was little smoking come out, I had to stop there. It was turned out there was a belt fell out and my alternator eventually died. My car is 4-cylinder, not 6.”

NHTSA complaint #10298961, filed 2010-01, 55,000 miles

“2005 Toyota Camry xle--beginning in march 2007 my Camry began to accelerate from a stopped position. My Camry would take off at high speeds from a complete stop and applying the gas pedal. This occurred several times. I took my car to my dealer bill page Toyota in falls church, va. The first time the acceleration occurred was after 2 years and in march 2007. I was on constitution avenue, right lane in dc--which either turns right or goes straight. Constitution avenue is 3 or 4 lanes each east and westbound--I was heading eastbound. …”
