“I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Twice the check engine light came on for a period of 24 hours and then went off for a week. I took the car to the Toyota dealer and they replaced the computer. I am reporting this as I know there is serious concern about the computer electronic system in the toyotas. I thought this piece of information might be helpful to you.”

NHTSA complaint #10319390, filed 2010-03, 30,000 miles

“While getting on the freeway my car lost almost all acceleration in heavy traffic. Pulled off the freeway turned off car, restated it and it sounded, felt normal. I drove 11 miles home. Next day: driving to Toyota 2miles away, engine light comes on, car shuts down at intersection in traffic, blocks from Toyota dealership. Car stalls 4 more times to dealership.”

NHTSA complaint #10325382, filed 2010-04, 30,677 miles

“I was driving in the rain one day and my vehicle just stalled out. I had not driven through high water, or had any brake issues, but the car stalled. Went to turn the next corner after I had restarted it, and it stalled again. This happened 4 times in a row. I took it into the shop and they could not find a problem with my vehicle. The problem still occurs about once a week.”

NHTSA complaint #10351503, filed 2010-08, 24,000 miles

“I would like to make a formal complaint about my 2007 Toyota Corolla. I purchased my car in january 2007. I'm having problems with my vehicle. The is a vibration I feel coming from the steering wheel. My car stopped on the li expressway due to 2 sensors that no longer worked. There is a shaking in my tires & every time I turn my car on there is a loud noise coming from the engine.”

NHTSA complaint #10273799, filed 2009-06, 30,000 miles

“December 17, 2009 the ECM unit failed in our 2007 Toyota Corolla. Engine cut off. This is a known problem. There was an angel on my daughter's shoulder as she was on a low traffic city street when this happened and she was able to pull over safely. If this had happened on the freeway it could've been deadly.”
