“In march, 2007, I had an accident. The rear end of the car was completely broken. I thought it was totaled. Safeco had it repaired. The trunk does not stay secure, I am continuously taking my vehicle to the body shop for repairs to the body. The body parts just pop in (plastic) and the trunk lid does not stay shut. I am very disappointed, as well as it being very dangerous when I am riding down the road and the trunk's lid flops open, causing blind visibility .”
NHTSA complaint #10250563, filed 2008-12, 200 miles“As I approached traffic lights, I had to apply the brakes as yellow light was on but the car was still accelerating. Even after the brakes were completely applied, it went forward. To my bad, it was a snowy day in my place and my car skidded in to the left turn lane, got crashed in to the other car. My car's front bumper, head lights and couple of other parts were replaced for which I have spent $500 out of my pocket and the remaining amount was paid by my insurance company. Luckily there were no injuries to me, my 7 month pregnant wife and the other car driver. …”
NHTSA complaint #10627707, filed 2014-08, 40,000 miles“I was pulling into my parking spot at about 2 to 3 miles per hour as I was stepping on the brake pedal the car accelerated as if someone had push the gas pedal with 1000lbs of force. The car literally flew over the curve onto some bushes over the sidewalk sideswiped a light poll and onto the street the car slowed down when I was on the street. During this whole time my foot was on the brake pedal all the way down but the car would not stop, there are skid marks that show that and when I stopped my brakes where smoking and there was a very strong smell of burning brakes. …”
NHTSA complaint #10627985, filed 2014-08, 80,000 miles“I stopped at a gas station to fill my gas tank and while this was being done I heard a loud bang similar to a gunshot. When I started my car there was a loud rattling sound. I stopped the car and got out to look underneath but couldn't see anything hanging. Since I was near home I started the car and drove slowly home. I took it to the dealer the next day and they repaired the gas tank strap passenger side. I told them I considered this to be a design defection and a safety issue. They stated there has been no recall despite the fact that they had seen quite a few of the same problems. …”
NHTSA complaint #10483386, filed 2012-11, 92,851 miles“Check engine light came on 11/14/10 and car started slam shifting, and died on freeway. The car started again, and I took it to xx in moreno valley next day. Dealer said faulty ecu (DTC p2716) and the part must be ordered. I asked if they could provide a loaner car because I don't feel safe driving the car with a faulty ECM. I was told part will most likely be in tuesday or wednesday. The dealer said a loaner car would not be provided unless the car totally stop operating. I live in san bernardino and work in moreno valley, approx 26 miles one way. I have aaa towing basic for 6 miles. …”
