“The first accident was in june 29 2012, while I was driving 10 miles an hour (for transit) the car in front of me stopped and I try to stop as well but my car didn't stop (increase its speed) and I crashed in the back of the car (I remain surprised, did not know what had happened). …”

NHTSA complaint #10619444, filed 2014-08, 5,000 miles

“On may 04, 2013, my mom was involved in a bad traffic accident with her 2011 Toyota Corolla where the driver's side airbag did not deploy. The insurance adjustor wrote it up as a total loss and advised me to contact Toyota to inquire about the airbags not deploying. My mom is currently recovering from two major surgeries from this accident. The first surgery they had to remove her left kidney due to internal bleeding. The second surgery was 41/2 hours long repairing her badly broken right arm. …”

NHTSA complaint #10511343, filed 2013-05, 22,000 miles

“I pulled out at a green light and a pickup truck ran a red light hit my car in driver door at 50mph and none of my airbags deployed me and my wife both had injuries.”

NHTSA complaint #10520257, filed 2013-06, 31,000 miles

“I noticed that the driver side floor mat moved to the front and I am afraid that the floormat could jam the gas pedal like it happened before. To my knowledge there have been fatalities due to gas pedals jammed by the floormat on previous Toyota models. Toyota claimed that the floor mat issue was addressed but the 2 clips which are supposed to secure the floormat are not strong enough. My vehicle was not even 3 years old when I first noticed that the floor mat can't be secured anymore. The two tiny plastic hooks are bent and don't hold the floor mat in place.”

NHTSA complaint #10632051, filed 2014-09, 19,550 miles

“On 2/19/15 at around 9:27 pm my car was hit by a pickup truck in downtown bellevue, here is what happened 1. I approached the intersection to take a left from bellevue way ne to enter ne 7th st which takes into the lincoln square cinema parking lot 2. I saw the red signal (exclusive left arrow) and waited for the light to turn green to take left. My car was first in line waiting on red 3. Once the left arrow turned green I started turning left and half way into the roadway a pickup truck (driving at around 45-50 MPH) hit my car on the front passenger side (side collision) 4. …”
