“2024 Toyota Grand Highlander XLE FWD. At approximately 38,000 miles I began hearing a roaring/humming noise that varied with vehicle speed. The condition initially progressed slowly but then became much worse within several days. At 41,510 miles a Toyota dealer diagnosed and replaced the right rear hub/wheel bearing assembly. I was advised that the failed bearing was nearly seized when removed. After replacement the noise was reduced but remained present. …”
NHTSA complaint #11762946, filed 2026-09“I have a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander (FWD Gas) with about 37,000 miles and had 2 wheel bearings fail - front right and rear right. I noticed a constant humming noise starting around 20-25 mph that increased with vehicle speed. Thinking it was tire noise, I replaced all 4 tires, and the sound was still present. The dealership first replaced the right front bearing, and when they drove it after the repair, they noticed the sound decreased but did not eliminate the noise, and they further diagnosed a failed rear wheel bearing.”
