“Hello, my sunroof shattered without warning. One morning, I decided to open my sunroof. When I pressed the open button, the sunroof made a cracking noise that got worse as the sunroof opened. I was on a residential street at the time. Temp: about 65 degrees.,overcast.”

NHTSA complaint #11155604, filed 2018-12, 2 miles

“My brand new car caught fire in the front while it was parked outside a restaurant. I came outside to leave and it was towed away. The car was totaled from the fire. I saw the RAV4 investigation is happening and wanted to make sure you had my report included. The fire happened in the front left (as it was stated in the article other cars). I can send you additional details if needed but everything is matching up with the other incidents. It was a brand new car which is why it was such a strange event.”

NHTSA complaint #11398858, filed 2021-03, 14,600 miles

“The sunroof exploded while driving down the highway. No rock was seen before it happened and the glass was curved outward when we stopped to look at it. Fortunately, the visor/cover was below it so the glass shards did not spray into our faces. It sounded like a bomb went off. This is extremely dangerous and we have no option but to have the sunroof replaced. It would be wise to always drive with the sunroof cover over the glass to protect yourself.”

NHTSA complaint #10860191, filed 2016-04, 3,000 miles

“When it rains the driver side flooring and mats are completely soaked absorbing up to 1 inch of water. The car isn't driven much so the problem only struck a bell this year.”

NHTSA complaint #11129655, filed 2018-09, 4,000 miles

“My car has an electric rear door/hatch. Without electric it is extremely difficult to open. The electric opening does not work so I had to have it repaired. The cost was about $1100. The Toyata repair shop mechanic said there have been many of these repairs. The vehicle is only 6 or 7 years old.”
