“Traction control became active and engaged. Pavement was dry/clean, 43 degrees, no traction limiting road/tire conditions. This occurred during acceleration regardless of rate of acceleration. Traction control would turn back off when pressure was released from the gas pedal. This severely limited the acceleration of the vehicle and could create a hazardous situation if someone was to be pulling out in front of traffic. I pulled over to the shoulder and turned off the vehicle waited 10-15 seconds and powered the vehicle back on condition did not return.”
NHTSA complaint #10487527, filed 2012-12, 52,000 miles“My Toyota Sequoia lift gate outside handle has sticky melted tar type material covering the switch. The rubber boot covers the electronic switch to release the lift gate is completely melted. It is very hard to open the rear lift gate by pushing the handle. The black tar like material sticks to the fingers and it is very hard to clean by just washing hands. The dealer wanted over $451 to replace the switch. I am sure I am not the only one with this issue. My car stays in the garage at home and at work. I purchased the original Toyota extended platinum warranty when I purchased this vehicle. …”
