“The dash start cracking up for no apparent reason and the car is mostly park inside a garage day and night. I have called dealers and nothing has been done so far and I have been told that's a manufacturer defect and it should be corrected by dealer. The transmission some times does not change the gears and others stop to work and I could cause a rear end collision.”

NHTSA complaint #10511602, filed 2013-05, 42,000 miles

“Abs, vsc, trac off, brake lights on continuously, plus tire pressure light blinking. This is not normal and also annoying. Toyota doesn't seem to know what the problem is, and is only willing to allow me to spend thousands of dollars to try to fix this. Toyota needs to take responsibility! Vehicle drives normally. Lights have been on for months. I was driving down the road, with a car load of children, late at night, coming home from a football game when the lights came on. We were driving across a long bridge, on a 6-lane roadway, going about 50 miles an hour. Very scary! …”

NHTSA complaint #11064947, filed 2018-01, 138,000 miles

“The driver-side mirror with dimming, blinker, hest and folding in capability has failed. The motor that controls the mirror constantly runs and the mirror opens and closes with the wind direction. I tried to find a replacement part but all the replacement parts have the same motor problem. The dealership requires a entire mirror replacement and repaint.”

NHTSA complaint #10378816, filed 2011-01, 65,559 miles

“The contact stated that both of the vehicle's headlights are aimed towards the ground. The vehicle was modified by a mobility industry in 01/06 to accommodate disabled passengers. The vehicle's independent rear suspension was replaced with a solid axle which raised the rear of the vehicle 2 inches causing the headlights to be aimed 50ft ahead. The mobility industry was notified about the defect on the 07/13/06 and determined that nothing could be done. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who determined that nothing could be done.”
