“Driving up driveway and closing rear window when the window exploded into thousands of pieces sending glass in every direction. Had a passenger been in the rear seat injuries would have been likely in my opinion. My concern is if this happens when someone has a child in the rear sear. The end result was small fragments of glass over the entire third row seating area.”

NHTSA complaint #10661493, filed 2014-12, 60,000 miles

“The wheels on the driver side sliding door broke causing it to stop working and shattering the back window of my van. My child was sitting by the window that shattered. We were very lucky she was not injured by the glass.”

NHTSA complaint #10662214, filed 2014-12, 66,000 miles

“I was out in the front porch near my garage around 7:30pm and my Sienna was parked inside the garage. Suddenly a loud noise like an explosion of sort occurred that scared me pretty bad that prompted me to look inside the garage and I was shocked to see two large holes simultaneously on either side (left and right) of the rear windshield and the glass was slowly caving out and then shattered completely in (not spider-web like) slowly falling away into the trunk. …”

NHTSA complaint #10428336, filed 2011-10, 25,160 miles

“The day after picking up my new 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, I noticed a distortion across the lower 3 of the windshield. It is very distracting, as the paint stripes on the road bend towards the driver. It's worse at night.”

NHTSA complaint #10411899, filed 2011-07, 30 miles

“At 2400 miles. My Toyota Sienna start having windows problem. It is very new car. After numbers of repair. This Sienna-still both passenger front and rear windows will automatically roll back down when getting to the top. And back door can not be closed completely. Especial recently. I feel this is very dangers. Because this van windows up and down it is very danger for my 2 years old baby. It may cut his hand. I do not want this terrible van anymore. This van really make me headache and worry. If this van has no problem. I will definitely not bother anybody. But in fact. …”
