“The vehicle was stationary when the power door cable snapped and the door will now only open approximately several inches. This poses a safety hazard as children in the back could become trapped in the vehicle. When I contacted the dealer I was told this was an incredibly common problem with the Sienna minivans but Toyota was not doing anything to remedy the issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11005453, filed 2017-07, 133,000 miles“The sensor in the power sliding door of my 2012 Toyota Sienna, would not stop beeping even though the door was closed. The latch was rusting away, and Toyota wanted $1,400 to replace it. The driver's door latch is made of stainless steel, so why is the sliding door latch rusting? And why can't we disable the sensor?”
NHTSA complaint #10903513, filed 2016-09, 87,000 miles“1) power sliding door opened while driving; 2) strer wheel always stay on right. I took my van to delaer (mark jacobson) and they have not fixed the sliding door after I report the problem with sliding door. After I started searching on internet and found that there is recall also. I called them there is a recall but they did not do anything. Recall date: november 22, 2016 dealer reference id: g04 NHTSA recall id: 16v858”
NHTSA complaint #11047282, filed 2017-11, 10 miles“I met an accident when a car (at speed around 65 MPH) crossing the red light coming from my right hit my car at my right front and none of the srs bags did not deploy. We were 4 passengers at the time of the accident and we all had minor injuries. All the srs bags for other car has been deployed that hit my car. I am really concerned we all 4 would have been killed and it has been considered as the fatal accident by police report.”
NHTSA complaint #11022513, filed 2017-09, 35,000 miles“It rained and froze, snowed and thawed, and the latch on the sliding door of my 2012 Toyota Sienna broke. The door would slide open and closed while I was driving it and would not stay closed. Fortunately none of my children were in the back seat when this happened.”
