“Experienced it a number of times intermittently. When making a stop from about 25-30 mph, just before making a full stop (~10mph) while foot on the break, the vehicle lunge for a split second. The feeling of loss of braking power. At number of times, I thought I was going to rear end the veh in front of me. The last time I experienced it was last Aug 7.”
NHTSA complaint #11607678, filed 2024-08“When breaking at a stop sign or light, the vehicle occasionally feels like it surges forward and I'm accelerating instead of breaking. This causes me to push harder on the brakes, which then seem to mechanically engage and then stop the van. I've had the van for a year now and it happens a few times a month, especially if I breaking on an uphill incline.”
NHTSA complaint #11500399, filed 2023-01“Sometimes when I apply the brakes, usually for more than a few seconds, the brakes feel like they release on their own. The car will lurch forward and I have to firmly push the brake pedal harder, in order to regain braking power. This happens randomly but on multiple occasions on a weekly basis.”
NHTSA complaint #11595977, filed 2024-06“The problem in my vehicle is that several times when braking the car accelerates suddenly before braking, it doesn't always happen but I saw on the news that hyundai has the same problem in their cars with the software and I don't know if this causes the same in my car”
NHTSA complaint #11540815, filed 2023-08“About five times now, when braking at slower speeds, such as at a light or parking, the car will accelerate and lunge forward or there will be a loss of the brake. My foot is depressing the brakes normally when this happens, but then I will slam harder on the brake to not hit whatever is in front of me. There does not seem to be any particular reason that causes this to happen, for instance temperature, and it happens randomly.”
