“I took my 2019 Tacoma sr5 to headquater Toyota miami today. I told them that my truck vibrate when braking between 25 to 15 MPH. They inspected my truck and told me they felt the vibration so they called the corporate and the mechanic was told to test drive a similar truck. The mechanic told me that it does the same thing and to wait for a maybe recall. Next week I'm taking my truck to another dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #11307523, filed 2020-02, 3,000 miles

“Driving to the ups brake malfunction light came, engine light came on, traction control off light on, vehicle lost power, able to only move 1 mile an hour, brake malfunction light also said brake override, advise bring to dealer . Luckily I was a hundred feet away from the Toyota dealer when this happened living in a small town. Turn on my hazard lights and drove into Toyota dealership.”

NHTSA complaint #11286780, filed 2019-12, 1 miles

“While driving on cruise control the engine shifts to a higher gear for no reason resulting in higher gas usage. I also noticed while having the radar on while on adaptive cruise control, the vehicle will automatically slam the brakes for no reason resulting me in a bad situation due to traffic. The system engages the brakes for no reason even though the vehicle that the system is detecting is not even close to me in the front. Please fix this cruise control issue”

NHTSA complaint #11208499, filed 2019-05, 1,200 miles

“Acceleration is often hesitant and jerky. When at a complete stop, turning or driving , I will push the gas to accelerate but the truck takes about 2 seconds to finally move. The dealership stated it was the traction control because I turn too fast. When asked about why it hesitates to accelerate when at a stop or when I'm driving straight, they stated they didn't know but it wasn't an issue since their mechanicals couldn't replicate the problem. I don't feel confident or safe in this truck.”

NHTSA complaint #11323943, filed 2020-05, 10,000 miles

“A couple times over the last several months, I've had problems with rpms surging (between 800 & 1200) shortly after starting the truck when the vehicle is cold; both while idling in park and shortly after placing the vehicle into d or r. This has resulted in unintended vehicle movement when it started surging after the truck was put into drive. This has happened when pulling out of my driveway on cold mornings or leaving an appointment or work after the truck had sat & cooled. The RPM surge wasn't an issue while it was simply idling. …”
