“Abnormal inside tire wear leading to blow outs and flats. TSB 42M6 available for alignment, adjustment bolts and camber adjustments but it was not sent to my car and I've had to replace 2 sets of rear tires due to uneven wear. Mileage currently is at 35k. Dealer states no issues with suspension or alignment but can't explain the uneven wear. First time was in October 2024 and then this time February 2026. Car was newly driven January 2023. Dealer is asking me to pay each time for new tires. …”

“The screens go black during driving and the gps flickers on and off creating a dangerous distraction. VW told me they do not have the technology yet to fix it, even though it is a huge hazard. in addition the car has a problem charging and holding the charge. The display of the miles is not accurate as to how much energy the car holds. In addition the contract said I had 3 years of free charging, but that has been taken away. so the car cannot charge well in addition to no free charging.”

NHTSA complaint #11620893, filed 2024-10

“Loud audible drive shaft noise usually found on a turn or after hitting a pothole. Dealership has not been able to identify and remedy the problem after 2 attempts on 12-27-24 and 1-3-25. Researching into this matter, I found many others in the community with these same problems (Reddit, VW User group, Facebook VW ID4 user group). I typed into the Google AI for why this problem exists, and it clearly shows this is an axle design flaw that cannot accommodate the weight of the car. I've attached this screenshot for your review. …”

NHTSA complaint #11643870, filed 2025-02

“While accelerating and decelerating, there is a low popping noise that comes from under the floor of the car. It sounds like metal reacting to a change in temperature when it pops, like if you pour hot water into a metal sink. This has been a consistent issue for over a year, and despite the dealerships attempts to fix the issue by replacing the sway bar and tightening the suspension and upper and lower control arms, the noise persists during acceleration and deceleration. The dealership was able to reproduce the issue when we have taken it in. …”

NHTSA complaint #11681157, filed 2025-08
