“Takada recall my car only has 34000 miles on it and is only driven by my wife. The airbag warning light is on and it was taken to the dealer who told us it would cost $695.00. According to your website and takada has a problem with the ignitor for something for the bags the car was parked in driveway and when we started to back-out we saw the indicator on..”

NHTSA complaint #10948855, filed 2017-02, 34,075 miles

“I was in a side impact crash with the other vehicle going approximately 60 MPH. I was hit on the drivers side and none of the airbags deployed. After the vehicle was towed, my insurance adjuster opened the drivers side door to assess the damage and the airbag then deployed. My insurance adjuster stated that the airbag should have deployed and it may have helped with the impact.”

NHTSA complaint #11120432, filed 2018-08, 120,374 miles

“Had a noise and then light go off on my Jetta air bag light stays on soi brought this to dealer they told me I need to get a new clock spring and air bag installed at a cost of about $950. This is on the recall for the vw s list of recalled airbags they said mine doesn't qualify same problem but a few months different in time”

NHTSA complaint #10789123, filed 2015-11, 90,680 miles

“My car was involved in a mva and the airbags did not deploy, although the censors should have deployed the airbag. Per my insurance carrier investigator it was confirmed that the airbags should have deployed.”

NHTSA complaint #11092563, filed 2018-05, 55,000 miles

“When pulling into work, my airbag light came on along with a message that said airbag fault! I have since had this diagnosed as a failed clock spring (located in the steering column), which vw will not replace because the car is over mileage and too old for any kind of goodwill replacement of the part. Since this is a critical safety system, I am disappointed that it failed on an effectively new car, when none of the 15-20 year old beaters I've driven have ever had a clock spring failure.”
