“The car randomly stalls!!! This has happened several times and the dealer says nothing is wrong because there are no codes. This is so dangerous and I do not feel safe driving it. Twice the car stalled when sitting at a stop light and once when I was driving on the city street. It will restart after I let it sit. It also stutters/jumps and de excellerates.”

NHTSA complaint #11290651, filed 2019-12, 75,000 miles

“While driving the engine light came on and the car lost power. We were on a rural road so we could pull to the side of the road safely, if this had happened on a freeway we could have been in danger of being rear ended. Once stopped the care would not restart. Had to be towed to vw dealer. The high pressure fuel pump had failed.”

NHTSA complaint #10621160, filed 2014-08, 54,000 miles

“I was driving along and the power dropped to almost nothing. Before I could get to a safe stopping point, the engine died. I had it towed to the dealership. They diagnosed it with a failed high pressure fuel pump(hpfp). If it had been out of warranty, it would have cost $6000 to repair. If this would have happened in the middle of a 4 lane expressway, I don't know what would have happened.”

NHTSA complaint #10514639, filed 2013-06, 46,000 miles

“My car has had 3 stalls within 3 months. I took it to the dealer they replaced the throttle assembly. Since then I was pulling out of a parking spot and put the car in drive and the car stalled. I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10584888, filed 2014-04, 19,000 miles

“Always had electrical issues, always changing fuse for horn, horn never works! Issues with ignition, difficult to turn off, not cannot turn on at all, key won't turn enough, contact Volkswagen, advised out of warranty, no recall for issues I am having, vw does not stand behind their product-very expensive to fix, vw will do nothing, told me not a common issue (all they have to do is read through the complaints on here and find lots of people w/same issue(s) would not recommend vw to anyone!”

NHTSA complaint #11139959, filed 2018-10, 133,000 miles
