Example complaints

Electrical system: “The indirect measurement TPMS system of this car has misdetected low tire pressure on three occasions. Most recently, on October 3 while driving on the freeway at about 70 MPH the TPMS alert illuminated. I checked the information screen and the display showed low pressure in all four tires. Because I have had misdetection of the right front tire twice before, and that it seemed very unlikely that all four tires would deflate at the same time, I disregarded the alert as a false detection. Later I checked the air pressure in all four tires and found it to be exactly correct. …”

Other or unknown: “I reported this issue last year when my car was just barely outside of the extended service plan agreement we had on the car. I had called the dealership with similar issues as well way before hand. My infotainment system which controls all and I mean all of the safety features I paid/am still paying for no longer works. It’s a known issue with Volvo they know and so do other mechanics. Prior to this my instrument panel completely blanked out:went black for a minute while driving. Thankfully the car never shut off but I called them they said see if it happens again and that was that. …”

NHTSA complaint #11665222, filed 2025-06

Brakes: “1) during braking, there have been 3 occasions where the pedal became extremely difficult to press and the vehicle did not slow down properly. This nearly caused a crash. There were no alarms or alerts. Car was delivered to dealer for repairs. They confirmed that there were not diagnostic codes and verified that all the correct software was installed. They were unable to find and correct the problem.”
