2001: “I took my Audi 2001 allroad quattro 2.7t to the dealership to fix the check engine light problem. I was told there is a leak on the valves on top of the gas tank. I am aware there was a recall on that model regarding the gas tank.”

NHTSA complaint #10488646, filed 2012-12, 125,430 miles

1994: “Complete engine shutdown without any prior warning after driving approx. 4 hours on I-95 south. Car started and ran normally for another 3 hours immediately after I pulled over and stopped. Same thing happened the next day after same amount of driving time on I-75, car started without problem and I reached destination after another 15 minutes. Readout of computer showed nothing. Mechanic recommended to prophylactically replace cam sensor which I did. Effect remains to be seen. …”

NHTSA complaint #10484922, filed 2012-11, 95,000 miles

1992: “Runaway throttle. Uncommanded engagement of cruise control? Would not respond to brake or shutting cruise control off on steering column stalk switch. Very dangerous!!! Almost caused a crash, very ineffective braking with engine trying to keep car going at about 55 MPH, but I managed to pull over and shut car off. I pulled the cruise control fuse and problem has not reappeared. I am an electrical engineer.”
