“Moonroof exploded while driving 55 to 60 MPH on a straight highway. There were no cars, trucks on the road ahead of me. The stretch of highway was elevated with nothing but marshland on both sides. No civilization, stores, humans etc. There was a loud pop sound like a plastic bottle had popped, then my ears popped and about one or two minutes later an explosion and shower of glass on myself and my passenger.”
NHTSA complaint #11318251, filed 2020-03, 2,500 miles“As always, my wife put her purse with the key in the purse in the front seat of the car while she was putting our (3) old grandchild in the care seat. as soon as my wife closed the back door all the doors locked, possibly our granddaughter hit the lock with her foot. The back doors only have a lock feature but not an unlock feature. My wife had to call the fire department to get the doors open. We live in Florida, if this was summer, there could have been a health risk to our grandchild. …”
NHTSA complaint #11657508, filed 2025-04“When the vehicle is connected to a cell phone and reliant on Apple CarPlay for navigation support, the screen will freeze numerous times while in transit. This causes the driver to lose situational awareness. The natural impulse for most drivers is to try to remedy the issue while moving. Once the device is disconnected the application resets and loses the destination. This can happen while driving on a highway at a high rate of speed.”
