“The car is a 2013 Bmw 328I sedan. The problem happened while the car was in park. I had a passenger get in the car and a warning appears saying passenger restraint system malfunction . I took it to the dealership and they said the issue was the passenger seat occupancy mat sensor. There are known recalls for this exact issue for multiple models of Bmw for a wide range of years. However, they said my VIN wasn't covered.”

“Takata recall - I took my car in to Bmw for recall and was told they don't have the part to replace the recall due to a backoerder. I have called several times to find out if they have them yet and have been told no each time. My Bmw displayed a restraint system malfuction light today. I am worried this may have somethng to do with the recall. Are these parts truly on back order?”
