“Travelling at 60 MPH on the highway I got a message drivetrain malfunction . Before I was able to stop, the car shut down. NHTSA complaint #11021700, filed 2017-09, 80,000 miles

“Replaced an about to blow timing shaft and timing belt for a n26 f30 Bmw 328I. Will cause catastrophic failure of engine in case its blows up. I had it happen to me when I had 74k miles. Bmw extended warranty until 70k but since my incident happened at 74k Bmw refused to offer any help. This is a manufacturer defect as the composite material used to make the timing chain was brittle and was replaced in 2015.”

“My car is a 2013 and was purchased in 2016; with milage at 78,700. On a cold start, a huge cloud of white smoke comes out of the right exhaust pipe. I took it to Bmw for a diagnostic to determine the cause of the smoke. I was told it is a turbo feed line and if that is not it then it is the turbo charger engine as a whole. I was quote $5000 for the full repair on a car. I found a recall for the same issue on the same model of car, and I spoke with Bmw about it. …”
