Example complaints
Transmission and drivetrain: “When taking off from a dead stop I heard a loud bang and car would not accelerate , took a look underneath and it seems at the very least the connection between the driveshaft and the diff exploded. I'm hoping there isn't any damage to the transmission itself , I know there has been a recall for this issue on 1, 3 and some 740 models I don't understand why not mine ...”
NHTSA complaint #11385994, filed 2021-01, 91,000 milesEngine: “The n63 engine made by Bmw generates too much heat which has caused mine as well as countless others to consume far too much oil over years of usage. The engine's heat has also caused nearly all gaskets and o-rings to become warped and leak oil as well. Currently, I put in over 1 quart of premium 5w30 oil every 8-10 days which is far too much. This engine needs to be looked into; I'm happy to participate in first-hand accounting of results of this failed engineering marvel.”
