Example complaints

Air bags: “My passenger air bags are inoperable in my vehicle. It was this way when I bought the car. It was reported to me the vehicle was under recall for the situation but when I had the car taken to the dealership, they informed me my particular vehicle wasn't under recall. My question is why is my car isn't one of the vehicles under recall. I had the car checked out by a certified Bmw mechanic and he stated it's in the passenger occupancy detector.”

NHTSA complaint #10496587, filed 2013-02, 96,555 miles

Latches, locks and linkages: “The contact owns a 2007 BMW 750I. The contact stated that while driving, the door failed to close securely. The contact stated that the door was latched but failed to remain closed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not re-repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V328000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). …”

NHTSA complaint #11503941, filed 2023-01, 56,000 miles

Brakes: “I purchased my 2007 750I Bmw in 11/2013. Shortly after I purchased it, I started having brake booster issues. The brake pad becomes hard to press and I have actually rolled in the middle of intersections because the car would not stop. I took my car in to Bmw of dallas and was told that my brake booster was contaminated but my vehicles brake booster was checked out (not repaired) in 2011 and didn't have a problem then so Bmw is not going to repair the recall now. …”

NHTSA complaint #10578028, filed 2014-04, 72,000 miles

Body and structure: “The contact owns a 2007 Bmw 750I. While driving 35 MPH, the driver side door failed and opened without warning. The vehicle was diagnosed that the door latch pawl springs failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v504000 (door latch). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.”
