Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While I was driving the car alone around 7:30pm 5/13/2021 on the way to a restaurant, after I pushed the gas pedal to pass another car (accelerated to about 50mile-55mile/hr), the car all of a sudden accelerated on itself. I noticed right away after my right foot moved away from the gas pedal (from 50 to 55 then up to 65mile/hr, I stopped my observation since it was getting too fast). I have to constantly hit the brake pedal to reduce the speed for about a mile or two. …”

NHTSA complaint #11416691, filed 2021-05, 3 miles

“While I was driving the vehicle it suddenly felt as if the car downshifted aggressively and at the same time I lost power steering, power brakes, and my hud for speedometer, etc. The car displayed several warnings simultaneously as well.”

NHTSA complaint #11234568, filed 2019-07, 1,247 miles

“My 2019 BMW X5 suffered an identical failure to the 2023-2025 recalls to replace the entire integrated brake system unit at only 31,117 miles. The part # was 34-51-5-A7C-589. The repair work was performed by BMW of Ocala at a cost of $4,134.37 on 8/3/2024. Because this component matches the technical architecture of the widespread 2024 integrated Brake Module recalls, I believe BMW should reimburse the total cost of this repair.”

NHTSA complaint #11768368, filed 2026-10

“I bought the car 8 months ago from Fred Anderson Acura in Greenville was told the car was inspected and serviced and I’m was in great condition. 8 months later I have 10 thousand worth safety issues wrong with the car that I have to fix .”

NHTSA complaint #11698471, filed 2025-11
