“We are the original Owner of a 2023 BMW X7 with 17,500 miles. The past 2+ months the screen/display will go blank for up to 30 seconds while driving the vehicle. Obviously this is a serious safety issue. We took the vehicle for service where it was originally purchased at BMW I will say, this issue is very disappointing, scary, and disturbing. The vehicle was originally brought into service on 7/3 and no resolution for the problem has been presented as of yet. …”

NHTSA complaint #11681164, filed 2025-08

“On June 29th, 2023 at approximately 8:45 AM we were pulling into a parking space slowly tapping the brakes to slow and stop the vehicle. About 2/3 of the way into the parking stall around 3 or 4 feet from the curb, the vehicle actually accelerated while pressing the brake jumping the curb. We pressed on the brakes again and the car accelerated even faster crossing the sidewalk crashing into a building. We believe the brakes caused the SUA (Sudden Unintended Acceleration) accelerating the vehicle twice and the vehicle failed to apply the brakes. …”

NHTSA complaint #11537161, filed 2023-08

“Our vehicle dies while driving down the highway, twice now in less than 30 days. I drivetrain and low-power warning came on, but the car died and wouldn't start. The obvious risk is that we were driving on the highway and barely avoided being in an accident as I tried to steer us off the road. The second time we were at a park. In both instnances, the temperature was over 100 degrees and my 3 and 5 year old both got sick from overheating. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere. The dealership said it probably just overheated, we couldn't find anything but assure us it won't happen again. …”

NHTSA complaint #11534138, filed 2023-07

“The contact owns a 2023 BMW X7. The contact stated while driving 45-50 MPH, the message Unable to Drive and SOS messages were displayed. The vehicle then came to a complete stop, almost causing a crash. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle responded as needed, and the contact was able to drive to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact not to drive the vehicle and to take the vehicle to the local dealer for assistance. …”
