Example complaints
Brakes: “I took my X7 to Habberstad BMW to have this brake safety recall done. The dealer said they do not have the parts available and have no ETA. I do not feel safe driving this car with the braking system not working 100% efficiency. I am on month 24 of a 36 month lease with BMW financial and I would like BMW to buy back this car and terminate my lease. This recall has been announced for a few months now and to not have a fix yet for a braking safety issue is unacceptable.”

The contact stated while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the automatic emergency braking system engaged while there was no nearby obstacle or vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the forward collision avoidance system was sensitive and needed to be adjusted in the infotainment settings. No further assistance was provided. …”

The past 2+ months the screen/display will go blank for up to 30 seconds while driving the vehicle. Obviously this is a serious safety issue. We took the vehicle for service where it was originally purchased at BMW I will say, this issue is very disappointing, scary, and disturbing. The vehicle was originally brought into service on 7/3 and no resolution for the problem has been presented as of yet. …”

At approximately 60,000 miles, I began experiencing a whining/howling noise that increased with vehicle speed, along with a metallic grinding noise from the front drivetrain area. The vehicle was subsequently diagnosed, and during the diagnostic process the front differential fluid was drained and inspected.
