“Warning light on dash lights up..just bought the car 10 days ago..air bag light....just started .....researched....over260 complaints no deaths...1 injury air bag deployed when getting into car. Some took to dealer (most did)..they say its a sensor...$1300 to fix. No this light wasnt on when I bought the car! Does someone need to die before the manufacture steps up???I have no money to fix anything. A lawyer is my next step”
NHTSA complaint #11114303, filed 2018-07, 67,500 miles“Air bag will sometimes register when my children are in the front seat and sometimes it does not. It is suppose to automatically detect their weight and come on or not depending on how much they weigh. The fact that it registers sometimes and does not at others has me concerned. I saw a recall on this model and was wondering if my car is affected in the recall. It is a 2006 Buick Lacrosse.”
NHTSA complaint #10297820, filed 2010-01, 50,000 miles“2006 Buick Lacrosse passenger side airbag sensor not working. I purchased the vehicle used with 60,000 miles on it and was told at the time that the indicator light for the passenger side airbag was periodically displaying, but it was simply a problem with the indicator light. Now at 98,000 miles, I took the car in with a problem on the driver's side seat belt assembly. They pointed out to me that in addition to the seat belt retractor malfunctioning, the sensor for the passenger side airbag isn't working, which is what the light has been indicating all along. …”
NHTSA complaint #10363861, filed 2010-11, 63,000 miles“We have a serious safety issue with the 2006 Buick Lacrosse. This model has a passenger side seat sensor which detects whether a passenger is seated in the seat or not. If it detects no passenger, the passenger air-bag is turned off. At temperatures below 55. This passenger side seat sensor does not work! My wife first noticed it on a cold morning, I had her bounce up and down on the seat - no response. The air-bag remained off. This happened everytime the temperature as indicated on the dash was 55 of or lower. …”
NHTSA complaint #10149808, filed 2006-02, 500 miles“My airbag light would not go off after I started the car, it would go off then it would come on randomly while I was driving the car. I had it checked at a Buick dealer. I was told that the intermittent module inside the passenger seat was what came up on the computer. Then I noticed that the on/off control on the passenger side quit reading on when I had a passenger. I was told that as long as light on the instrument cluster is off all my airbags are working. Sounds like a safety issue to me. I was also told that if I did not fix it at a cost of $1300.00 the airbags may deploy for no reason. …”
