“I had my cruise control set to 70 miles per hour and when it was time to exit the highway, the cruise control would not turn off. I entered a one-lane elevated exit. I applied the brakes, and while going 50 MPH, was trying to turn the cruise control off at its switch. I shifted the car into neutral and when I put it back into drive the car started to accelerate again. I tried this more than once. I had difficulty maintaining control of my vehicle. After getting off the exit, I brought the car to a stop by placing it in neutral. …”
NHTSA complaint #11257210, filed 2019-09, 49,000 miles“2015 Cadillac SRX with 87,397 has a failed Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) or ABS module. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Alexander Cadillac of Oxnard refuses to repair it stating a replacement part is no longer available (it can be repaired by a specialty repair company). They cite liability by using after market or repaired parts. Without a functioning EBCM - ABS,power steering and traction control do not work which puts me and others at risk. …”
