“Engine idles very eratically. Head lights dim on braking-inside dash and radio lights flicker-shifts into 1st gear harsh-voltage drops in the red causing car to almost stall-when turning on air conditioner there is a load whinning noise- car runs eractic on startup-locked up in reverse once-car shakes while driving-clicking noise in the dash-have been to shop over and over for these problems- first it was nothing,then the serp.,belt,then the alternator,now it is my radio causing these problems (so I am told) car still not fixed. …”
NHTSA complaint #748108, filed 2001-07“When taking the manual transmission out of third gear the computer cannot find the idle speed , so the engine fluctuates rpms anywhere from 850 RPM to stalling. It does this repeatedly. This was discovered when turning a corner, taking it out of third and losing all power after the engine stalled. The dealership cannot fix the problem and has advised the manufacturer.”
