“While at a stop I smell fuel really strong and only when there is pressure it leaks on top of gas tank where the return line cracked running down the back of the tank and onto the exhaust I see there is a recall for many other Cobalt's but not my VIN with this same issue! I am very disappointed this is a safety hazard what if somebody was to smoke by the car or they threw a cigarette out of there car and I caught on fire ????”

NHTSA complaint #11405263, filed 2021-03, 150,000 miles

“My fuel line began leaking profusely. I am losing quite a bit of gasoline and I am concerned that it may catch fire and kill me. I see that certain 2007 cobalts were recalled over this issue and am wondering why mine wasn't. The leak occurs continuously while the vehicle is running, whether I am stationary or in motion.”

NHTSA complaint #11140814, filed 2018-10, 130,000 miles

“My Cobalt is not listed in the fuel pump-fuel line recalls that numerous others are listed in, yet, I've had the same problem! Also, the fuel lines are rusting through at the metal clamp sites and leaking gas too! I believe this recall needs extended to cover all vehicles developing this problem!”

NHTSA complaint #11139530, filed 2018-10, 85,000 miles

“My family and I were riding in the car , when suddenly there was a awful gas odor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where I was told my life was in danger and they did not want me to drive the car. The fuel pump had to be ordered. Also, the ignition lock cylinder was replaced, due to the vehicle not starting at times....updated 01/29/15”

NHTSA complaint #10680206, filed 2015-01, 125,714 miles

Upon taking my car in for repair it was found to be leaking fuel and the fuel line was replaced.. ..updated 05/23/17 updated 09/15/2017”
