“Twice today my 2005 Corvette temporarily locked its front left brake followed by giving me an service active handleing message. First time on the freeway after hitting a bump and 2nd going about 40mph. Both times driving straight. After turning car off and on the message was gone. This is a serious issue and the dealers seem to deny any common issue with this although iv seen thousands of posts on the matter from other owners.”

NHTSA complaint #11216996, filed 2019-05, 29,000 miles

“I have a 2005 Corvette and when getting on it my back wheel feels like its going to lock up I read something about this and has something to do with my propelling steering wheel and almost put me in a wall and I heard this is going on a lot”

NHTSA complaint #11071734, filed 2018-02, 82 miles

“While slowing to make a left hand turn when the vehicle stalled/stopped temporarily...could have caused collision if the stall/stop happened a second later when I would have been in the opposing land. It has happened twice. I had the car repaired at edwards Chevrolet in birmingham. I was told by them that a wire in the steering column had corroded.”

NHTSA complaint #10292919, filed 2009-11, 30,000 miles

“My 2005 Corvette c-6 coupe has been periodically giving active handling system warnings. The dealer couldn't find any reason for the problem but did replace the computer module just prior to the warranty expiring. The problem seemed fixed for a while then started again about a year ago. The warning comes on almost every time I drive the car now. Reading some of the other complaints on this subject makes me fear driving the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10326580, filed 2010-04, 12,000 miles

“Service active handling system message comes on frequently. I had been ignoring it, but now the traction control system is beginning to engage during normal braking and causes my 2005 Corvette to shift sideways.”
