“The brake pedal depresses beyond the gas pedal, sometimes causing my wife or myself to hit the gas while braking. The dealer says this is normal and we should learn to live with it. I wanted the brake pedal pulled up, but was told you can't do that on a chevy Cruze. If this is true, I believe this is an accident waiting to happen, if it hasn't already.”

“Around november 29, 2014 I was driving the 2015 chevy cruz while out of town driving on the highway going around 55 miles I was pulled over by a police reporting that I was driving 75 miles, but when I slightly hit my brakes to slow down the car didn't change its speed. Based on the police's report of the speed he reported me going the odometer reading is wrong or set too high in this vehicle and will cause accidents if not fixed. …”

NHTSA complaint #10676538, filed 2015-01, 300 miles

“Power assist failed, making steering difficult, happened during lane change on freeway at 70 MPH, this happened in conjunction with random screen loss on infotainment screen. Also random error messages. Upon taking car to dealer, they agreed it was probably an issue addressed under special coverage 14311, but it turned out that it was not. My 24 yr old daughter was driving , I am thankful she survived, no one should experience loss of power steering, especially on the freeway. Oddly I ended up paying out of my pocket for a new battery and a pos and a neg cable. …”
