“Air pressure sensor on rear driver tire indicated 28 pounds. When the mechanic turned the cap to remove it from the valve stem, the stem broke off (due to corrosion). Dealer says the wrong caps were on it it - it should have been metal caps. I bought this vehicle from this dealership but they say they have no responsibility. After getting the sensor and valve stem replaced ($86), I brought the tire back and put it back on. Checked remaining valve stems and another one broke off on the front passenger side. Another $85 and I will eventually have to replace the other two. …”

NHTSA complaint #10597609, filed 2014-06, 68,000 miles

“17 aluminum wheels freeze to the rear disc brake hubs, requiring special tools or a sledge hammer to remove. Defect makes it impossible to change a rear wheel on the road in case of a flat tire, possibly stranding the driver in a remote area or in dangerous weather conditions. Wheels have insufficient clearance around disc brake bearing hub. This has occurred several times, discovered when tires need to be rotated.”
