“The dash on the passenger side is cracked and could hurt someone if the airbags were to deploy. This is a very common issue with the 2009 silverado. Also, the lifters are very bad and will stop working if the afm isn't turned off. I thought my engie was dead when going 70 and the lifter go out. Lost all power and had to tow it to a shop. This has happened twice.”

NHTSA complaint #11324906, filed 2020-05, 130,000 miles

“This is a complaint about the cracks on my dash around the air bag. Over the past month they have grown and gotten worse, one is huge (about 7 inches long) and there's two more pieces in the corner about to fall out and one near the radio. I would just like GM to put a new dash in for free so I can cover it with a carpet dash and not have to worry about it. Thanks”

NHTSA complaint #11301389, filed 2020-01, 120,000 miles

“Cracked dashboard by passenger side air bag. My concern is if the air bag is deployed will it cause the dash to shatter causing more injury. I had the same crack in the same place on my 201 3 tahoe but I have traded it in. It seems that there a major issue with multiple Chevrolet vehicles similar to mine.”

NHTSA complaint #11098269, filed 2018-05, 79,000 miles

“Takata recall- since march 2017, my warning light system has intermittently displayed a service airbag message. There is an existing recall associated with my VIN, however since may, 2016 the recall status remains as recall incomplete, remedy not yet available . I believe this to be an obvious safety concern.”

NHTSA complaint #11033187, filed 2017-10, 100,000 miles

“Was driving down 95 by howland maine when my airbag light came on , I pulled over shut truck off and restarted it still didn't go away, so I decided to just drive it right to garage we're I founded out it could be a few things, so I got 2 brand new airbag sensors but after we put them in, it still didn't go off. But I seen we're your company put this airbag recall out. I was wondering if that could be why? I got paperwork we're we put sensors in.”
