“The vehicle's power steering went out mid drive on the road after being driven about 2 miles. I was unable to turn the wheel. I attempted to restart the car at that point is when the engine would not start. The truck did not move in the middle of traffic. This is caused by some electrical problem. The dealer does not know what the issue is and they could not duplicate the issue. It is the second time it has happened to me.”
NHTSA complaint #11773482, filed 2026-10“I suspect the automatic emergency braking suddenly activated while backing into my driveway. The truck abruptly stopped as if i crashed into something. The driveway was completely empty there was no reason for the vehicle to activate that system if that's even what happened. The dealer was no help i figuring out the issue they made no attempt to even try and diagnose it. I've since deactivated automatic emergency cross traffic braking and it has not happened since.”
NHTSA complaint #11753227, filed 2026-07“While driving my truck returning from a camping trip I received the following warnings in the dash: Service ESC, Service traction control, forward collision system unavailable. Check engine light was flashing. I made the assumption that the Check engine light was due to the warnings listed above. I continued to drive the vehicle until I began to feel a very noticeable shudder at idle, at low speeds, and also loss of power at higher speeds. The truck has the 5.3 ecotec engine with DFM. …”
NHTSA complaint #11748066, filed 2026-07“I purchased this vehicle brand new and have experienced a recurring issue when coming to a stop. The forward sensors activate indicating I am too close to an object (even though nothing is in front of the vehicle), and the engine stalls. Everything shuts off except the driver information screen, which displays the prompt Shift to Neutral and Press Start Again. Following this prompt does nothing; I have to shift into park and press the ignition again to restart the vehicle. I have taken the truck to the dealership multiple times. …”
NHTSA complaint #11759204, filed 2026-08“The forward collision warning is excessively sensitive to vehicles and pedestrians. I've had the alert go off recently for something so simple as pulling into a parking spot. It goes off frequently just driving past pedestrians and throughout what I consider to be normal driving where I am not coming close to a collision with a vehicle. It is very unsettling and startling when the alert goes off indicating that I am coming close to a collision with a vehicle or a pedestrian. I had a 2023 Silverado 1500 LT/2.7 Turbomax engine and it was not this sensitive. …”
