“In may I purchases a 2020 silverado. On december 05th, 2020. I was driving on the interstate heading home from my son's football game . The service brake system message displayed on the vehicle's dashboard. Braking became sluggish and stiff. I initial thought the brake fluid had had leaked out. The vehicle maintained power to all other systems. Once home I checked the engine bay and brake calibers and found them to be intact. At this time the vehicle has 12,400 miles. …”

NHTSA complaint #11383399, filed 2020-12, 12,500 miles

“Brakes lock up on vehicle while driving Must turn vehicle off and restart several times to disengage brakes. This has happened twice in the last 8 weeks, very concerning as we cannot use our travel trailer as we do not trust this not reoccurring. Chevy dealership says there is a recall on this issue but not on my truck?. But they say it is THAT problem”

NHTSA complaint #11719749, filed 2026-02

“Problem started while driving on the highway, I was speeding up from the ramp to merge into the highway. As I got to 62 mph the dashboard started blinking that i could only go up to 62 mph max. Cruise control was not on. I drove to my destination at that speed with the message on the dashboard. I arrived at my destination, parked, turned it off, a couple of hours later turned it on to drive again. …”

NHTSA complaint #11595290, filed 2024-06

“Vehicle came to abrupt stop with no warning and no reason. There was not a vehicle in front of me, nor behind me when this occurred. If there had been a vehicle coming behind me there would have been a collision.”

NHTSA complaint #11762037, filed 2026-09

“We went to an appointment and when we got back in the car, a message was on the screen. It said that the brake system has failed and we could only drive 43 mph maximum! The engine light was on and we could not accelerate beyond 43 mph. This is extremely dangerous when driving on a highway! We drove home on the interstate going 43 mph in a 70 mph zone! We had small children in the car and almost got into a few accidents due to other aggressive drivers. We then called local dealers who said that they were too busy to take our truck for weeks! …”
