“The truck was issued a recall for the engine blocker heater which was performed. Since that recall was performed I keep getting low coolant warnings on the dash in error. The vehicles was taken back to dealer and everything was checked. They refilled the system just incase there was an air pocket but they warned me about 4 out of 10 people that have the recall performed continually get a low coolant light. The truck was fine for 2 months and now I'm back to having the low coolant light on. The coolant level looks fine. …”

NHTSA complaint #11374988, filed 2020-11, 25,000 miles

“When vehicle is accelerating anywhere from 30-50 MPH, the truck loses power for several seconds, and starts sputtering or chugging. The RPM on the dash starts bouncing up and down. This goes on for several seconds and truck slows down. It then goes away and can continue driving. However, when towing trailers, the effect is only increased and the truck slows down even more.”

NHTSA complaint #11180875, filed 2019-02, 10 miles

“The engine surges when letting out of the pedal and coming to a stop. I have been told by the chevy service department that they don't see it. The RPM's drop and pick back up 3-6 times with no foot on the pedal slowing down to a stop. It happens all the time. For them not to see a problem is ridiculous.”

NHTSA complaint #11326308, filed 2020-05, 100 miles

“The Variable Geometry Turbocharger Actuator failed on my 2019 2500HD Silverado. There was a significant decrease in power. This was most noticeable on uphill grades where speed would drop to between 35 and 40 mph on a 75mph speed limit highway. On several occasions, vehicles came close to hitting me because of my slow speed.”

NHTSA complaint #11724249, filed 2026-03

“Prior to 04/25/21 and 08/25/21 I was traveling 60mph on I-205 in the fast lane when my truck went into limp mode. I nearly caused an accident because the truck started shaking, all check engine lights illuminated, and it was challenging to navigate to the right lane and off the highway. This happened on two separate occasions. GM sent a letter dated August 2021 that my truck, equipped with a 6.6L diesel engine, may have a condition that could cause the engine glow plugs to fail. …”
