Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“We have complained several times about the driver's side seat not feeling as if it is locked in position and were told that it is normal. It felt as if the seat were rocking a bit. Now the seat has broken all the way and can rock as if you are in a rocking chair. This took effect on the freeway. Very dangerous!!! .....in connection with the EGR valve I am currently in need of having it replaced for the 3rd time. My service engine soon light has come on all three times. The vehicle has not run the same since the first EGR valve has been replaced. …”

NHTSA complaint #718763, filed 2000-02

“This vehicle is kept in meticulous condition, always garaged and maintained regularly. After numerous no-starts and general poor running condition I have had to replace both fuel injectors, the map sensor as well as having a major tune-up.”

NHTSA complaint #718888, filed 2000-02

“Passenger side floorboard reaches high temperatures directly over exhaust pipe and catalytic convertor. Right side floorboard temperature inside cabin measures 120 degrees under normal driving and has been measured at 146 degrees while towing approximately 3000 lbs on a vehicle with 5500 lbs rated towing capacity. 146 degree temperature was recorded during optimal towing conditions, level driving, night, low wind and 50 degrees air temperature. Clear indications that temperature exceeded 146 degrees during previous usage. …”
