“Takata recall I have a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer and my SUV was parked in the yard and I went to go to the store and opened my door and found the truck was full of smoke! My driver seat had caught on fire just sitting there. Not even cranked! It destroyed the seat and the top of the SUV and the roof melted all over the truck.”
NHTSA complaint #11252007, filed 2019-08, 312,000 miles“All of my gauges including fuel gauge, tachometer, and speedometer have stopped working. They will work some days and then others the gauges are all out of whack. It seems to occur especially when it is cold out. I am very frustrated that this is happening. I realize that my vehicle is older, but I do appreciate working gauges!!!”
NHTSA complaint #10935995, filed 2016-12, 130,000 miles“When driving my vehicle that speedometer on the RPM does not work, and now I was told that the computer was messed up. I have replaced the battery, and then the fuse under the seat gets really hot, and something needs to be done about it. I have even got a ticket for speeding and my speed o meter was set at 65 and I was told by the highway patrol that I was going 75.”
NHTSA complaint #10557565, filed 2013-12, 10,600 miles“The problem that I have with my truck is an electric problem involving the light relays, which I ad to replace several times due to them being damaged, leaving me without lights. My main concern is that I drive at night often and I am in danger when I have the lights on and off. I did research on several forums where same-vehicle-owners have experienced the same issues.”
NHTSA complaint #10502721, filed 2013-03, 150,000 miles“Takata recall was driving down the highway doing bout 70mph and I hear a nosie on the roof and then I saw my whole 3rd break light asmbley break off and fly into the air and almost hit the car in back of me this can cause a major accident if it fly's off and hit a car in back of you and I was doing research online and saw its a common problem with these SUV its a poor design and needs to be recalled before somebody dies.”
