NHTSA complaint #11010612, filed 2017-07, 140,000 miles“Crack in fuel tank 2004 chevy Trailblazer ls. Crack is just below where the filler tube goes into tank. I have researched online and find that this is a common problem but there is no recall. I am concerned about a fire and explosion. A new fuel tank from the dealer is over $1000. I have tried to patch it but it is made of a special plastic that is herd to repair.”
NHTSA complaint #10411718, filed 2011-07, 60,000 miles“Began to smell gas fumes inside the car after filling my 2004 Trailblazer. Noticed it for about 4 weeks then had the oil changed at the dealership where we purchased the car new. They informed us that there was a crack in the top of the fuel tank, where the filler tube is, and would need to replace the tank.”
NHTSA complaint #10464595, filed 2012-07, 90,500 miles“After purchasing this vehicle it was hidden to me that the gas gauge was not working properly. When I brought this to the attention they told me it was too late. I since joined a forum for my truck and found out that there was issues with this type in the past years.”
NHTSA complaint #10494851, filed 2013-01, 126,000 miles“Speedometer and fuel gage completely stopped working. Researched the internet and lots of people have complained of this very issue, but no recall has been made. This is a safety hazard and to fix this problem our dealership said it would cost anywhere at the least $500. This really upsets me as we cannot afford to fix this for that amount of money.”
