“I got into a car accident in may of 2016. My air bags did not deploy, as they should have given the speed I was going. I also was not notified of this recall until later that year. I have called and checked online to see when the parts would be in to have the recall issue solved and I have been told they do not have an eta and the parts aren't available.”
NHTSA complaint #10969610, filed 2017-03, 55,000 miles“Takata recall. I have a recall on airbags and seatbelt transponder may not work in event of an accident. I refuse to drive this car and am not waiting until june 2017 for a repair. I want a buyback immediately....with incentive ...so I can get on with my life. A rental is being offered at this time . I am not satisfied and a buyback would make more sense.”
NHTSA complaint #10925338, filed 2016-11, 73,000 miles“I was driving straight forward, in the right lane of a four lane highway (two lanes in either direction). A car traveling in the opposite direction, lost control and crossed the highway, striking my car's front end. My car received extensive front end damage. The car was totaled, as was the other car. I was driving and my wife was in the front passenger seat. We were both wearing our seat belts. …”
NHTSA complaint #10920590, filed 2016-11, 17,900 miles“Took car in to dealership years ago to have head rest and airbags fixed. Received a notice by inputting my VIN that these fixes were incomplete . Also discovered that the 3.6 pentastar engine from the factory had substandard engine bearings which could result in the engine seizure and the remedy was for the factory to replace the engine. My 2012 Chrysler 200 was manufactured during this time frame, yet was never notified by the manufacturer of this dangerous condition.”
NHTSA complaint #11280138, filed 2019-11, 14 miles“Soon after I purchased my 2012 Chrysler 200 s the rear safety belts began locking for no apparent reason. The lock was so harsh that the belt would have to be removed and reapplied. The restraint has continuously locked causing the passenger to be pinned to his or her seat. This has happened almost every time there is a passenger in the rear restraint no matter the speed the vehicle is traveling.”
