Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“When I turn on the heat, the passenger side vents blow cold air. This is a problem to drive using my air/heat because it's draining my coolant. This causes my temperature gage to rise. This happens regardless of my car being stable or in motion. This, at times, also causes my windshield to become foggy.”

NHTSA complaint #11327472, filed 2020-06, 68,000 miles

“Both the dash and passenger window defrosters on the passenger side of the car blows cold air. This is not just a comfort issue. The restricted visibility is very dangerous. I wish I would have known before I purchased this vehicle. There are hundreds of complaints online and the cost to fix is ridiculous. This needs to be a recall from Chrysler.”

NHTSA complaint #11052712, filed 2017-12, 81,000 miles

“The vehicle has lost most of its heating capabilities and will not defrost the windshield. This is extremely dangerous as we live in a cold climate during the winter and could cause an accident as well as causing the driver to be very uncomfortable while driving. I have read up on numerous complaints of this and I cannot believe there hasn't been a recall submitted by Chrysler. …”

NHTSA complaint #11058443, filed 2018-01, 90,000 miles

“Heater blows out cold air I have no heat I cant defrost car windows to see .this has been happening since 2016 jan I have replaced actuvator blendoor 3 times ....thermostat 2 of them... Flushed the heater core .....found out I have a sludge or blockage in my radiator and heatercore plus need radiator cap 2500 to fix ? Its a 20”

NHTSA complaint #11024065, filed 2017-09, 130,000 miles

“Passenger side pushes out cold air, terrible to drive in and uncomfortable. Battery has been replaced 4 times in the last 2 years. Alternator as well. While driving to work, my windshield frosted over from being so cold and I had to veer off the road to avoid getting into an accident.”
