“The brakes make a lot of noise as if they needed to be replaced because of wear but the car was brand new. I have taken it to the dealership several times and they always say the same thing: all of Chrysler's 200 have this same problem with the brakes. That there is nothing wrong with the brakes. This is terrible because people know I'm coming just by the noise.”
NHTSA complaint #10721971, filed 2015-05, 100 miles“Vehicle: 2014 Chrysler 200. Scene: huntington ave. Boston, ma, in slow mid-day traffic (12:30 pm). The engine suddenly shut off. Steering and brakes became inoperable. I did not even realize that the engine had stopped running until after I tried to use the steering and brakes. The car would not restart. Passersby helped push it to the curb.”
NHTSA complaint #10607935, filed 2014-07, 6,000 miles“My rotors are bad they messed my brakes up I've took it to the company 4 times there still messed up my engine was leaking oil my RPM get stuck an my car doesn't like to switch gears when I'm drive it I've took it to the company they said it was ok they all do it.”
NHTSA complaint #10706575, filed 2015-04, 3,500 miles“The car has a ticking by the right side I reported this to meinke and they let the warranty expire with silvercrest but its noted in my 30 day warranty with drive time.”
NHTSA complaint #11299708, filed 2020-01, 85,000 miles“I have taken my car into the dealership to address the constant squealing of the brakes and the emergency brake indicator light randomly turning on. The dealership said there was nothing wrong with the brakes or the electrical system. The brakes are so loud and noisy that people can hear my car coming from far off, they sound like I own an old beat-up vehicle that has never been serviced. This car is brand new and should not be so embarrassingly loud each time I hit the brakes whether it's at a slow creep or on the highway. …”
