“Imy car will not shift out of the first gear just out of no where while driving down the highway, had to have it towed and shop is saying transmission control module is bad and I see many reviews that this happens with this car around 90000 the shop is also say they see this problem a lot I don't understand why there is not a recall”

NHTSA complaint #11416011, filed 2021-05, 90,000 miles

“The 2015 Chrysler 200 c has stalled and stopped 3times while the car was in motion and would not crank back up until after 5 mins the first in a parking a lot and the other two times on a busy highway which could have resulted in me in and my passengers being injured. The recall code for this issue is r24. And was also told that there was a recall on the car but not for that issue”

NHTSA complaint #11404177, filed 2021-03, 98,000 miles

“The car stalled at a stop sign and stalled again 3 times after that. It read shift to p to start I did that and it would not let me change gear after that. I know this is a common problem with the Chrysler 200 so it should be a recall. This is a huge safety issue it happened while driving in a roundabout and people could have rear ended me.”

NHTSA complaint #11252867, filed 2019-09, 71,000 miles

“Ever since we got this car, the transmission does not shift smoothly, often very rough. We have taken it to the dealer a few times and they always tell us this is how the transmission is supposed to act. I think NHTSA needs to look further into this bc no transmission that is this new should be experiencing the rough shift, slip, etc like we have experienced.”

NHTSA complaint #11204763, filed 2019-04, 55,000 miles

“The vehicle started slowing down while I was driving to a stop and displayed the message 'shift to p to start'. I then put the car into park and tried to start it, it took two tries to start the car after it seemed to be struggling to start before finally starting on the 3 rd time. Then in the time span of me driving the two minutes back home it started to try and stop again.”
