“This is the second time that the bolts holding the pulley for the power steering sheared off. The first time I was driving on the turnpike. The second time I was stopped at a traffic light. Both times I lost power steering. I am lucky that I had the strength to control the car. This has to be a manufacturers defect. I do not feel safe driving this car. The last incident occurred on 10/28/2006.”

NHTSA complaint #10172115, filed 2006-10, 36,665 miles

“The contact owns a 2003 Chrysler Concorde. While driving 55 MPH, the vehicle completely shut off. After several attempts to restart the vehicle, it operated properly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on multiple occasions and stated that the clock spring had failed. This failure prevents the air bags from operating. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage is 65,816 and failure mileage was 12,000.”
