“Having continual issues with lights on dash flickering: 2 repairs completed in last 18 months and still broke. Cosmetically, the car is crappy since the day I bought it; paint flaking off, tire rims have pitted, inside door handles flaking off paint too, among a few others. However, my heated seats burning through is what has me very irate! I was driving and had two adult passengers with me. Both of us in the front had the heated seats turned on returning home from running errands in the city 45 miles away. …”
NHTSA complaint #10669526, filed 2015-01, 134,000 miles“My 2007 Chrysler Sebring (38000 miles) had a complete burn through on the fabric of the front drivers seat while the heated seat function was turned on. The burn through was about 12 inches long on the vertical back part of the seat. This could have burned me or (shocked me?). Shouldn't there have been a fuse that would have blown or some other safety feature to keep this heating element from continuing to burn through? I called my local Chrysler dealership and since my warranty ran out in april, they wouldn't even look at the car unless I gave them $89.00. This incident happened on 12/23/10. …”
NHTSA complaint #10372326, filed 2010-12, 38,000 miles“While driving noticed the back of the drivers seat was getting very hot. Found a burn hole in back of seat about 3/8th of an inch. I was using the heated seats at the time.”
NHTSA complaint #10692698, filed 2015-03, 56,305 miles“When my husband drives my car, he moves the seat back. When I drive my car, I move the seat forward. This action causes the airbag light on the dash to come on. When I move the electronically controlled seat forward/backward, the airbag light will sometimes go off. The NHTSA ref 07v240000 references a recall for the front seat track position sensor. I contacted Chrysler to see if my car is one that has been recalled. I'm told that it is not. I think it should be.”
NHTSA complaint #10532769, filed 2013-07“The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that the driver's side seat warmer overheated and caused hole to burn through the seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 65,000.”
