“Driving down a slight hill at 35mph using no throttle, the car stalled. No lights, no alarms. Realized it stalled when I had no power steering for corner. No power steering. No power brakes. Muscled car to stop safely, but if my 16yo daughter had been driving.... Very scary. Car has stalled once while idling at a stop and stuttered like it was going to stall at a red light twice since the initial stalling incident.”
NHTSA complaint #10782940, filed 2015-10, 42,000 miles“I was cruising on route 27 north towards mount airy and my 2008 Chrysler Sebring suddenly stalls and I have to pull over. After having the car towed to nearest dealer, I was told the next morning that my car run out of gas even though the fuel gage still shows that I have quarter tank available. Dealer told me that the sending unit is broken.”
NHTSA complaint #10258815, filed 2009-02, 21,343 miles“This car has a faulty totally integrated power module (tipm). This caused several problems including: the car stalling suddenly while driving at about 50 MPH on a straight road, the horn going off intermittently and uncontrollably both while the vehicle was stationary and while it was moving, and a check engine light that would not clear. I replaced the faulty tipm at my own expense and it resolved all these problems. Chrysler has issued recalls for tipms, but they have never recalled the 2008 Sebring. …”
NHTSA complaint #10849892, filed 2016-03, 76,000 miles“I am having issues when filling up my tank with gas. The pump shuts off and when I pull it out a couple of gallons will spray out. The shut off in the car is not working. I have read where others are having this issue too.”
NHTSA complaint #10450667, filed 2012-03, 83,000 miles“Cab wires to battery caught on fire with family riding in vehicle part was order and replace two months later causing the alternator going out tire pressure light cuts off and on and engine light cuts off and on dealer told me it was still under factory warranty took it to the Chrysler dealer told them about the four recalls I found on the car and the dealer is saying the VIN number doesn't match but my car is have all the descriptions of all four recalls.”
