“While driving the check engine light came on and the engine stalled. When tested the engine code came back as electrical short. The dealership where I purchased the car did not fix the problem but cleared the engine code. A few weeks later the check engine light came back on. While traveling at 50 MPH, and coming to a stop, the engine stopped running and the brakes failed to stop the car. After going thru a red light another car broadsided my car.”

“I purchased a 2008 Chrysler Sebring on may 28, 2010. On that day after test drive I spoke with salesman and finance manager about the brakes and was insured that any problems to bring back within 2 weeks. I also was told that the squeaking would subside within 2 week time. I have returned car to dealership twice now and each time was told no problems and they did not hear any noise. I've had to pump my brakes to stop and there is a grind noise when applying pressure to brakes. I have since replaced the pads and was told the rotors were bad also. …”

“I purchased my 2008 Sebring in november 2008. Several months later the brakes began making squeaking noises. I have had the dealer (from which I purchased) to put 3 pair of brakes on since then. I don't travel or drive long distances, but everytime I stop the brakes make squeaking noise s and skips. Also I have lots of dust to accumulate on the front driver rim. I was told to slowly pull my brake handle while driving to decrease the brake dust.”

NHTSA complaint #10361611, filed 2010-10

“Hello I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring and it constantly has brake problems. I bought the car from a dealership in dec of 2009. I have had to put brakes on 3 times since then and I don't go long distance or drive long. I have had factory brakes put on from the Chrysler dealership. The brakes always make squeaking noise all the time. I have talked to alot of other people that have chryslers and they all said the they have brake problems. I think the car needs to be repaired or recalled.”
