Example complaints

Other or unknown: “In the 2 years that I owned the van I have walked away from the car after a journey and accidentally left the van running 3 times and my mechanic has done it once. 2 of those times it was left running all night. Once it ran out of gas. It seems to happen when I am distracted. The safety issue is that the van has no warning system when this happens and there is a lot of carbon monoxide released into the air. It could be lethal in an enclosed area. …”

NHTSA complaint #11581968, filed 2024-04

Steering: “I was driving in the highway and my steering became so stiff that I could barely turn the wheel. It wasn’t just stiff, It was almost impossible to make a turn unless I use all my strength and turn the wheel with both of my hands. . It made me pull over the car and get it towed to the dealership. This was very dangerous because I couldn’t react to oncoming traffic or make regular turns on the street safely. There is no way people should be driving these cars if the power steering can go down with no warning. I could’ve hit somebody and caused a major accident on the highway. …”
