“I have a 2006 Dodge Charger r/t with less than 12,000 miles. In march of 2006, I had a blow-out of the front passenger side tire after bumping a curb. The impact was not that great and no damage was done to the car, but the tire was destroyed. On 8/25/2006, the rear passenger tire went flat for no apparent reason. I have it in for service today to determine the issue. My concern is that two tires have failed at under 12,000 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #10166825, filed 2006-08, 6,000 miles

“Tread separation, goodyear f1 supercar tires. 4 failures out of 5 tires at approx 15,000 miles. These are top of the line tires 245/45zr20 . Oe on Dodge srt 8 chargers and chrysler 300 srt 8 cars. My car has not been aggressively driven. Product reports at tire rack and other feedback locations indicate this problem is very common. Considering that these tires are placed on high performance vehicles this type of failure is extremely dangerous. I have replaced the tires and kept two of them that exhibit this problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10278747, filed 2009-07, 37,754 miles

“On my 2006 Dodge Charger r/t I had a low tire pressure light. I tried to remove the tires valve stem cover and the valve stem which is an integral part of the tire pressure sensor broke in half which deflated my tire completely within 10 seconds. 3 out of 4 valve stems did this. After contacting my local dealer they told me that this is a really big problem not only with the Charger model but all of the models. If this valve stem broke off during driving you would have no warning and an immediate and complete loss of tire pressure could occur. …”

NHTSA complaint #10371042, filed 2010-12, 31,000 miles

“Dt: the consumer states while driving at 40 MPH the ABS failed to activate. The vehicle skidded off the road and into several trees. Upon impact, the frontal and side/curtain airbags failed to deploy. The contact felt it was a traction control problem. The ABS failed once before. There have been no repairs made at this time. Updated 12/07/05.”

NHTSA complaint #10142590, filed 2005-11, 1,433 miles

“Tires have stress cracks about 1-inch from where the tire is mounted to the rim and it goes all the way around my tires. Scared that the tire may be defected.”

NHTSA complaint #10562860, filed 2014-02, 150,000 miles
